The great sweater debate
Every autumn someone asks me whether pugs really need clothes or whether it's just for Instagram. Honestly, both.
Pugs have a short single coat and not much protection from the cold. Below about 40°F Biscuit starts shivering on longer walks, so he wears a simple knit sweater. Above that it stays in the drawer.
What works for us
- Stretchy knit, nothing with buttons or zips near the neck.
- Short sleeves, so the legs move freely.
- Take it off as soon as you're inside. Pugs overheat faster than they cool down.
As for the reindeer sweater with the bells, that one was a gift. He wore it once.
